For years people have been asking for a model photography portfolio site that actually *helps* with networking, not another twist on a photo gallery. GreenMartini.com was born from those frustrated with overly complex navigation, completely unintuitive interfaces, and missing functionality. Our goal was to produce a very powerful platform for you to network and build your business around the model photography industry.

One of our primary missions with this site was to be sure that everyone gets credit for creating an awesome image.  No other site offers anything remotely close to the functionality we have created, because it isn’t just another photo gallery, it is an actual networking tool. Imagine viewing an image you really love.  On this system you can see who did the photography, modeling, lighting, clothing, hair, make-up, body painting, and so on.  Everyone that had a role on an image has the ability to be credited for their effort. Moreover, this same image can be used in the portfolios of everyone that had a role! No more uploading of the same image by 18 different people who want to have the photo in their portfolio.

Here is where the power of our system really starts to shine.

Imagine you want to follow a specific make-up artist that you discovered from an image on this site.  By looking at their portfolio, you can see every image in which they had a role in one place.  You can also see everyone they worked with on those images (no more having to track that yourself).  You can also read any blogs they might publish, see what photos they call favorites and even collections of limited images they have selected from the thousands uploaded by other members.

Our system limits the number of photographs one can upload, but that limit counts only those photos where you credit no one other than yourself.  Otherwise, if you credit others, you can upload as many as you wish.

To prevent others from taking credit for your work, an approval system has been added to the system allowing those involved some gate keeping capabilities to keep things tidy.

Better Portfolios With Larger Images

A simple collection of photography does not make for an ideal portfolio.

We solved this problem by allowing you to have 5 featured images that always appear at the top of your portfolio and are larger than the others. This is perfect for those obligatory headshot and full body photos that need to be in everyone’s portfolio. You can also add a single very large splash image, so you can get the attention of those looking at your portfolio as well as possibly advertise yourself in a unique manner. We also let you upload much larger images than any other model networking site out there today.

Powerful Activity & Image Comment Tracking

Ever wonder if there are any new comments left on images in your portfolio?
Interested in knowing if one of your friends has recently uploaded a new image?
Want to know what others are looking at or commenting on?

Well, we did. So, this system gives you a single page where you can view all of the activity in the system as it pertains to you. See all of the latest image comments on your portfolio as well as new uploads from friends and a lot more. We also have a networking page that shows you others who are close to your locations but not yet friends or people you are watching.

Common Image & Commenting System

One of the most annoying things we see on other sites is that the model, photographer, and make-up artist upload the exact same image, but they only see comments on the image they uploaded. This means the model might never see comments the photographer sees unless they happen to find the duplicate photo in another portfolio.

Our system solves that by relying on the photographer to be the key uploaded of images (although others can also upload). Once someone else is credited on a photo, it automatically appears in their portfolio (if they approve it) so they don't have to upload the same image! So, models, hair stylists, body painters and others that assist on photos no longer have to worry about tracking down the photographer and uploading images that are already in the system. Photographers also prefer this as it gives them more control over the copyright as well as controlling modifications of the image.  We have often seen examples where a model might overly sharpen an image because they prefer that presentation.  With our system of image management this is no longer an issue at all.

Discussion Groups - Not Forums

One of the nice things about forums is that they get a lot of posts, but that is also that bad thing. It is almost impossible to keep a discussion topic at the top of the list where people can see if for long before it gets pushed off the page.

To remedy this, our site uses interest groups. You can create groups for anything from common interests to events or even fan clubs. Each group can be invite only, or open to everyone. Moreover, groups not only have discussions, they also have their own gallery of photos! So, if you are hosting an event and want to have open dialog on specifics of the event, and then view photos after the event, this is the ultimate way to network.

Automatic Message & New Image Notification

Rather than make you refresh the screen insistently, we have a simple message icon that will appear instantly in the footer of the site when you have a new message. Also, we stream the latest photo uploads into the system in on the footer of every page. You can easily see new pictures as they come in and click on any that happen to catch your interest all without refreshing your browser constantly.
